Dog of the week
Roo

Roo

Gender/Age: Female 2 years
Breed: German Shepherd
Colour: Black & tan
Location: New Romney

Roo is an absolute gem, once she knows someone and feels comfortable with them she will give them undying love. Unfortunately, Ro hasn't had the best start and found herself in a pound prior to Last Chance rescuing her. Since we have no history for Roo, she cannot live with children and must be the only pet in the property as she is dog reactive. Roo needs a home where she will get the training she needs and the attention she deserves. Roo will be staying with a fosterer (also one of her favourite people on the planet) so if you're interested in her then please contact us on 01797 366620 so that we can arrange for a viewing to take place.

This duo are looking for patient and understanding owners who are around for most of the day and could help socialise them. They occasionally enjoy to play with some toys however Rox finds stealing socks much more fun, especially if he is chased! They are ok with other dogs though can be vocal when first meeting them. They cannot be rehomed with cats. Please pop down to our Edenbridge centre to meet them .

If you think you could offer Doris the loving home she deserves, please pop into our new romney centre

Daisy

Daisy

Gender/Age: Female 10yrs
Breed: Whippet X Bedligton
Colour: Grey
Location: New Romney

At 10 years old, Daisy is a gentle, affectionate girl who would thrive in a quiet home where she can relax and enjoy life at her own pace. Her favourite place is the sofa, where she loves nothing more than curling up and enjoying a nap. Daisy has previously lived with cats and has been happy sharing her home with them. Due to her age, we feel Daisy would be best suited to a home with older children who can respect her need for peace and comfort. If you think you could offer this lovely lady the retirement home she deserves, please contact new romney

Rambo

Rambo

Gender/Age: Male 6yrs
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier x Pomeranian

Location: New Romney

Rambo is 6 years old and came to us through the dog warden after being found as a stray. Sadly, he was never claimed, so we have very little history about his past. Since being with us, Rambo has shown himself to be a gentle soul who loves being around people and enjoys human company. He has a lovely nature and is always happy to spend time with those around him. As we have no previous history for Rambo, we are unable to rehome him with children or cats. She is looking for owners who can give her the time, exercise, and companionship she thrives on. If you think you could offer Miss Daisy the right forever home, please contact new romney

Cheeko & Queenie

Cheeko & Queenie

Cheeko & Queenie

Gender/Age: Male & Female 8yrs & 7yrs
Breed: Chihuahuas
Colour: Ginger / White
Location: Edenbridge

Cheeko and Queenie have come into us due to a decline in their owners health. They are a lovely pair who are looking to be rehomed together. Both are very affectionate lapdogs who would love nothing more than an owner who is around for most of the day to cuddle with. Despite their size they love their long walks so will need an active owner. They aren’t overly fussed with toys though do occasionally enjoy playing. They are typical chihuahuas who can be quite vocal at first. Cheeko isn’t keen on children handling him too much and can become quite distressed around them so due to this they are looking for an adult only home or a home with older teenage children who can respect when to give both Queenie and Cheeko their space. They can be quite anxious around other dogs so would be best suited as the only dogs in the home. Cheeko and Queenie would truly make great companions to the right home and would never fail to make you smile. If you are looking for a cuddly lapdog then Cheeko and Queenie could be the dogs for you. Please don’t hesitate to come down to our Edenbridge centre to meet them.

Willow & Sally

Willow & Sally

Gender/Age: Females 8yrs & 9mnths
Breed: Maltese & Maltese x Poodle
Colour: White
Location: Edenbridge

Willow and Sally have sadly not had the best start to life and have come into us through no fault of their own. They are a gorgeous mother and daughter duo who are looking to be rehomed together. They can be quite nervous of strangers at first, especially Willow so will need a patient and understanding owner who can give them the time and space they need to settle into their new home without pushing any boundaries and understand that everything must be done at their pace. The girls have sadly not spent much time outside so everything is new to them. They will need plenty of slow socialising with other dogs and people as well as new environments as they haven’t seen much of the world. They would love an owner who is home for majority of the day who has the time to gain their trust and slowly socialise them. Willow is the more nervous of the two and has been known to nip in the past when feeling threatened, this has mainly been regarding her grooming as she sadly had a bad grooming experience in the past which has left her fearful and suspicious when something is happening to her fur. She will need patient owners who can help her overcome this. Both the girls enjoy playing with toys and love their treats! The girls truly would make amazing companions to the right family. They are both affectionate lapdogs who enjoy being around their people. They are looking to be the only pets in the home. Due to their nerves they will need to go to a calm adult only home with patient and understanding owners. If you feel you could offer this lovely mother and daughter a forever home please don’t hesitate to come down to our Edenbridge centre to meet them.

Sprout

Sprout

Sprout

Gender/Age: Male 2yrs
Breed: Labrador x
Colour: Black
Location: Edenbridge

Sprout is a big, lovable boy who doesn't always realise just how strong he is! He has a very affectionate side and loves spending time with his people, enjoying plenty of cuddles and attention. When Sprout is feeling anxious or stressed, he can sometimes mouth as a way of expressing himself, so he is looking for an adult-only home with owners who have experience handling large breeds and understand canine behaviour. Sprout can be strong on the lead, particularly in a kennel environment where excitement levels are higher. However, once away from this setting, he settles well and walks much more calmly. He gets along well with other dogs when introductions are managed slowly and appropriately. Sprout especially enjoys rough-and-tumble play sessions and has formed wonderful friendships with Poppy and Maple here at Last Chance. Sprout is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can continue to build his confidence and get the proper training he needs.

Luna

Luna

Gender/Age: Female 4yrs
Breed: Beagle x ridgeback
Colour: Tan
Location: Edenbridge

Luna has come in to us for not getting on with the other dog in the home. She is a very affectionate girl who loves all the attention. She loves going for her walks and being out and about. She gets very excited on walks so would need lead training and she must be kept on the lead as she has no recall. She had never lived with cats and must be the only pet in the home. She would love someone in most of the time as she loves her company. She will make a fantastic companion.

Pearly Whirl - Pearl

Pearly Whirl - Pearl

Gender/Age: Female 3yrs
Breed: Dachshund
Colour: Black & tan
Location: Edenbridge

Pearl has sadly come to us for rehoming as she was not getting on with the smaller dogs in the home. Pearl loves her toy balls especially her blue & yellow ball and will nudge it closer and closer to you to get you to play if its too far. Pearl loves to get snug underneath the duvet at night and will happily sleep through the night, she tends to be the last one up in the mornings. Pearl can easily be spooked, this can even be by a simple knock at the door which sadly causes her to take her fear out on smaller dogs, with new visitors she can be nervous and will roll over showing her belly so slow introductions are best done slowly to help Pearl with this fear. Pearl has lived with a cat before and could do so again but sadly can not live with dogs. Out on walks Pearl is muzzled to protect her from any small off lead dogs running up to her and spooking her - however Pearl is great with big dog dog and one of her friends was a German Shepherd. Pearl is looking for a adult only home with someone who has the time and patience to help Pearl over come her fear and how to deal with her reactiveness to being spooked.

Coco

Coco

Gender/Age: Female probably 2yrs
Breed: Staffie x
Colour: Brindle
Location: New Romney

Coco came to us as a stray from a pound, desperately needing a rescue space. She arrived with Monty, the father of her puppies. The good news is that Monty has now found his forever home, but poor Coco has stayed behind to do the most important job of all raising her beautiful puppies. The sad reality is that Coco is still just a baby herself. Despite everything she has been through, she is the sweetest girl with a fantastic temperament. She absolutely loves people, enjoys playing with balls, and is always happy to spend time with her human friends. Once Coco has finished raising her puppies and is ready to start the next chapter of her life, I would love nothing more than to see her find the loving forever home she truly deserves. For now, she is being an amazing mum, but we can't wait for the day when it is Coco's turn to be spoiled, loved, and cherished as part of a family of her own. Please contact our new Romney centre

They are a very loving pair who just want to be around people and are great when meeting dogs on walks. They are looking for a loving home, where someone is around most of the time and get lots of cuddles. If you can offer this pair a home then please pop in to our New Romney branch to meet them.

Lena

Lena

Lena is a very timid girl who is in need of a lot of TLC. She has come from a very isolated home, so she hasn’t had much socialising with people. Once she knows you, she is super affectionate and loves cuddles. Lena walks well on the lead and is really good with all dogs and cats. Due to her background, she is looking for an adult-only home, as she is scared of her own shadow. She’s such a beautiful girl who is going to make the perfect companion. She just needs someone with a lot of time and patience.

Rocket is looking for a rural but active home - He absolutely loves his walks but has a huge fear of traffic. Potential new owners would need to work on helping Rocket overcome this fear. Rocket loves his toys but sadly does not like to share fluffy toys and will guard the fluff if he manages to destroy the toys. Rocket is looking for a rural active adult only home with someone who can help work on overcoming his fear of traffic and barking.

Alan

Alan

Alan is a sweet and affectionate little lad with a playful personality and so much love to give. He enjoys spending time with his people, whether that's joining in on adventures or curling up for a cuddle at the end of the day. Alan is friendly with others days but unsuccessfully lived with one so would need to be the pet in the household, this includes no cats either. He does struggle with separation anxiety therefore Alan is looking for somewhere where someone is around most of the time to help him feel more safe and secure. With patience, understanding and plenty of love he will make a wonderful companion.

He would benefit from some training as he has resource guarding problems and is very protective of the home. Django is a very sweet boy who just needs an owner who is willing to work on his issues with him. Django originally came to us with a fear of men but once he feels comfortable with you he is a very affectionate boy.

Rolo is a very nervous boy who will need an owner who is willing to work with him to overcome some of his fears. He is really lovely with people and very playful but has shown signs of some toy possessiveness so cannot live with young children. We are giving him some time to settle and we will then do some dog tests on him to see whether there is potential that he could live with another dog.

BooBoo

BooBoo

Breed: American Bulldog x
Colour: Merle and White
Location: New Romney

BooBoo has come to Last Chance from another kennels. She is a big sweet girl that loves a cuddle and a potter around taking in lots of sniffs. As we have no history on BooBoo she wouldn't be able to go to a home with children and we are unsure what she would be like around cats. BooBoo seems to be okay with other dogs. If you are interested in meeting BooBoo then please pop into our New Romney branch!

Ian

Ian

Ian

Gender/Age: Male 5yrs
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier x
Colour: Black & tan
Location: New Romney

Cheeky little Ian really lives up to his terrier nature; in the right home he is sure to make his new people laugh every day. He is an active boy, who loves exciting walks and chasing after a squeaky ball. He does have springs for back legs and can jump very high, so will need a nice secure garden to play in. He is always keen to meet new dogs, although we believe he would be best at the only dog in the home so he can be the centre of attention. Being a stray, we do not know what he has been through, but he can take a long time to trust, so will need an adult only home and someone dedicated to becoming his friend and coming to the centre to meet him several times. Once Ian gets to know someone he is the sweetest boy who just needs someone to come and give him a chance to find his forever home.

Prince

Prince

Prince

Gender/Age: Make 6yrs
Breed: Mixed breed (medium sized)
Colour: Black & tan
Location: Edenbridge

Please meet our lovely boy Prince. He is a very sweet boy who can be a little wary of strangers at first but it doesn’t take long for him to warm up to you. Once Prince knows you he is a very affectionate boy who enjoys a cuddle and a fuss and will jump up at you for attention. He loves to cuddle on the sofa whilst playing with his toys and despite his size he thinks he is a lapdog. He will take any chance he can get to sit on your lap and give you lots of kisses. Prince is an active boy who enjoys his long walks and generally walks nicely on the lead though he can pull at times. He can be reactive to some dogs whilst on his walks though we have been slowly introducing him to some of our other dogs at the centre and he has started to make some friends. He seems to enjoy a calm dog to walk alongside at a nice gentle pace. Prince is completely toy obsessed and will often be found wondering around his kennel with a toy in his mouth and will carry them around on his walks. He enjoys a game of fetch which he would play for hours if he could however he is also happy to take some toys off to his bed and play alone. He loves all kind of toys, especially soft squeaky ones and balls! When given a new toy Prince can get so excited he gets zoomies and because of this he would love a secure garden of his own to run around off lead in. Whilst we have seen none of this behaviour in kennels with us, we have been told that Prince did resource guard in his previous home so he would benefit from an owner who has experience with this. Prince would also benefit from further socialising with other dogs. Prince is a very loving, affectionate boy who is sadly rather misunderstood at times. He would make an amazing companion to the right person or couple and will never fail to put a smile on your face. He is a very loyal boy who is desperate to find his forever home. Prince must be the only pet in an adult only home. If you feel you could offer Prince his forever home then please don’t hesitate to come down to our Edenbridge centre.

Despite her age, she is still full of beans and loves her walks. At the rescue, Penny can be reactive with other dogs, but with slow introductions she comes around quickly and it is mostly just barking. If you are looking for a new furry best friend, Penny could be the girl for you.

Bruce

Poppy

Poppy

Poppy

Gender/Age: Female 2 year
Breed: Lab x
Colour: Black
Location: Edenbridge

Poppy has sadly found herself back with us in kennels due to her owner no longer being able to cope with her reactivity. She is a lovely young girl who is very energetic so will need an active home with a secure garden of her own where she can run around off lead. Poppy had originally come into us from the pound so we don't have any history on her prior to that. She is a very nervous girl and we believe she had received little to no socialising or training before coming into us. Because of this she will need patient and understanding owners who will have the time to socialise her and help her overcome her fears. She is a playful girl who enjoys a game of ball and is often seen carrying a toy or blanket. Poppy is a big girl and can pull on the lead at times so will need a strong owner who can handle this. She can be reactive to strangers and other animals when out so will need slow socialising and some training. Once she knows you she is the biggest baby who just wants cuddles and to give kisses. Poppy could potentially live with a neutered male dog of similar size and similar energy levels. She will need a home with someone who is around for most of the day. No cats or small furries. She cannot be homed with young children. Here Poppy is pictured with her friend Sprout. If you are interested in this young lady then please come down to our Edenbridge centre to meet her.

Jake

Jake

Jake

Gender/Age: Male, 9 years
Breed: Beagle
Colour: Tri Colour

Sadly Jake has recently become diabetic which has caused him to lose his vision, so we are desperately looking for a foster or forever home before he loses his sight completely. He will need insulin injections twice a day but he is such a good boy and waits patiently as he knows a tasty carrot is coming. Jake is one of our long termers who is very misunderstood, he has unfortunately come from a traumatic past which has caused him to bite when feeling threatened. Once Jake trusts you and knows you he is a very affectionate boy and loves a cuddle on the sofa. He is very good with other dogs socially but has to be only dog at home due to resource guarding. Jake is obsessed with food and will do anything to get hold of it so being a typical beagle he will try his very best to get what he wants. Looking for an adult home only who understands Jake's needs.

Jack enjoys a fuss and is slowly staring to take treats from staff and show some interest in his toys. He is an active boy who will need an active home. He can be strong on the lead at times so will need a strong owner.

Jack will need to be muzzled in public due to his high prey drive. He is ok with bigger dogs of his size but cannot be homed with cats, small furries or small fluffy dogs. Please come down to our Edenbridge centre if you are interested in Jack.

Mallow can take a long time to settle into a new environment as he can be very anxious so he needs a very patient owner who has lots of time to help him with this. Mallow has LOTS of energy and needs a very active owner to help burn this off, however he is treat responsive and loves enrichment toys. Toby

Toby

Toby

Gender/Age: Male 7years
Breed: Lurcher
Colour: White and Tan
Location: New Romney

Toby through no fault of his own has found himself back kennels. Toby is finding kennel life very stressful and is missing the company of a family. He is a very loving dog but gets overwhelmed by children so must be in an adult only home. Toby walks lovely on the lead but does have a slight prey drive when he sees squirrels. Toby was very skinny when he came to us and is slowly putting on weight now so would need lots of TLC in a loving home. He would benefit from being the only pet in the home with lots of gentle socialising.

Cleo

Cleo

Cleo

Gender/Age: Female 10 years old
Breed: Husky
Colour: Choc & cream
Location: Edenbridge

Cleo was sadly returned to us due to her owners no longer having the time to care for her. She is a lovely girl who enjoys a fuss though it must be on her terms. She is your typical husky who loves to be outside no matter what weather.

Cleo is a very active girl who loves her long walks so she'll need an active owner. She walks very nicely on the lead, though she is very reactive to other dogs and can redirect if a dog gets too close so she will need to be muzzled when going out. She is very good about wearing a muzzle and is muzzle trained. Cleo isn't the biggest fan of being brushed so will also need to be muzzled for this.

Cleo absolutely loves to lounge around on the sofa with all four feet in the air and snore as loud as possible. She is obsessed with her toys and gets so excited when receiving a new one she will get the zoomies! Cleo can be a very affectionate girl at times and enjoy a gentle cuddle but this must all be on her terms so she will need a patient and understanding owner who can give her the time and space she needs. She enjoys quiet relaxing evenings with her people chilling on the sofa, resting her head on your lap whilst watching tv.

Cleo does resource guard so will need an experienced owner who has the knowledge and time needed to help deal with her difficulties. She will need someone who understands that whilst she can be affectionate at times, she does also need a space of her own to go when she wants to be alone. She must be the only pet in an adult only home with no visiting children. If you are interested in this lovely girl, then please come down to our Edenbridge centre.

Maple

Maple

Maple

Gender/Age: Female 3yrs
Breed: Staffie Cross
Colour: Brindle
Location: Edenbridge

Maple has sadly came back to Last Chance for rehoming as the previous owners did not feel they could cope or deal with Maple’s needs. Maple is a large girl with a lot of energy and strength behind her. She loves to play with her toys however this can cause her to get overstimulated and starts to become rough with her people instead of her toys. So would need a confident owner who will be able to calm her down when she gets herself in this state of mind. Maple does walk well on the lead but she can be strong especially as she does have a high prey drive and will chase anything that moves including rubbish blowing in the wind so would need a strong owner and someone to further training to help her overcome this or to learn how to ignore all distractions on walk. Maple is a very sweet natured girl who is willing to learn and loves having a cuddle. Maple thinks she is a lap dog and loves sitting on your lap having her ears rubbed. She develops strong bonds with her people but especially to females in the home. Maple is good with other dogs depending on how they react and present themself to her first. Maple does have temper tantrums so will need an owner to help with this. Maple is looking to be the only pet in a home with especially no cats visiting from neighbouring gardens. Maple must go to an adult only home. Maple would benefit from a strong active home who has the time and patience to continue her training. Second photo is Maple with her mate Jackson.

Sally

Gender/Age: Female, 3 years
Breed: Lurcher x
Colour: Tan

Sally is one of our super sweet lurchers, she insists on a good fuss and a cuddle before every walk. She loves going for exciting long walks and would suit someone who would like to go for adventures in the countryside. She isn't keen on other dogs and would like a home in a quiet area where she doesn't need to be worried by lots of dogs. She has never been around young children, and would prefer an adult only home where she can be loved as she deserves.

Ralph

Ralph

Ralph

Gender/Age: Male 9yrs
Breed: Min Pin
Colour: Tan
Location: Edenbridge

Ralph has been with us for a little while now and he’s the kind of dog who needs time to get to know you. He can be unsure at first, but once he feels safe and trusts you, he’s a really friendly lad. When he’s settled, Ralph is full of energy and personality, with plenty of quirky little habits that make him very endearing. He can be stubborn and likes things his own way, and he doesn’t enjoy being pulled or handled when he’s not comfortable. In the past he has nipped as a way of saying “please give me space”. Ralph is looking for a calm, adult-only home with someone who understands dogs and is happy to go at his pace. He would be happiest as a one-to-one, but an experienced couple could be considered with the right introductions and plenty of patience.

Larry

Larry

Gender/Age: Male 3yrs
Breed: Pointer Cross
Colour: Black & white
Location: New Romney

Larry has come into us from the pound so we have no previous history on him. He has come to us extremely underweight so is currently having 3 meals a day to help him get back to a healthy weight. Larry is a lovely boy who loves everyone he meets. He is very affectionate and loves to have a cuddle. He knows some tricks which he is very happy to show off if there is a treat is involved. He is very energetic so will need an active home. Larry loves his walks and walks very nicely on the lead. He can be very bouncy when excited and can jump over his kennel door so will need a secure garden with a secure 6 foot fence.

Larry loves his food and treats and has recently started to show some interest in his toys. He is looking for a calm, understanding home where he will receive lots of TLC. Larry likes to cuddle up in his bed with lots of soft fluffy blankets. He cannot be homed with cats or small furries but could potentially live with another dog. Please contact our New Romney centre if you are interested in this lovely boy.

Breed: Bichon x JRT
Colour: White
Location: New Romney

Buddy is Looking for His Second Best Friend Buddy is my best friend here at the centre, and I would love nothing more than to find him a second best friend This cheeky old terrier knows exactly what he likes. He still enjoys his walks and exploring, and he’d love a secure garden where he can potter around. Because Buddy has a few behavioural quirks sadly Buddy has been returned 5 times, he needs an experienced home with no other pets or children — someone who understands stubborn terriers and can give him the patience and care he deserves.

Could you be Buddy’s second-best friend? Get in touch if you think you can offer him the forever home he’s been waiting for.

Dancer

Dancer

Gender/Age: Male 9yrs
Breed: Collie x
Colour: Black and Tan
Location: Edenbridge

Dancer came to us from the Welsh pound so we don’t have much history on him. Due to his breed and behaviour, we believe that he was used as a farm dog. When Dancer knows you he can be very affectionate and jump up for cuddles. Dancer loves to cuddle up to you on the sofa and gently nibble your fingers while getting belly rubs, if you stop stroking him he will paw at you for your attention. Dancer loves to be around you and will follow you everywhere so will need a home where he won’t be left alone for too long. One of Dancers favourite things to do is watch you make dinner in the kitchen in hopes that he could have some too! (He especially loves cheese) Dancer is an active boy who loves his long walks and exploring new places so will need an active owner and a garden of his own to run around and play freely off lead in. Dancer can get protective of his owner when on lead and can nip if anyone approaches him, because of this you will have to keep a distance from others and their dogs and walk in less populated areas. Dancer loves to play ball with you and when alone he loves to play with soft crinkly toys, you will often see him chucking them around in the air and tossing them side to side. Dancer is looking for an adult only home in a rural setting as he is noise phobic so would like a quiet home. He must be the only pet in the home. Dancer will need an understanding and patient owner as he is a very anxious boy who takes time to trust others. Dancer will need multiple visits to our centre with any potential owner to help build a bond. In time, Dancer would make a very affectionate and loyal companion. Please do consider taking Dancer home.

Buddy

Buddy

Buddy

Gender/Age: Male 8yrs
Breed: Bulldog x Staffie
Colour: Fawn
Location: Edenbridge

Buddy was originally here as a puppy. He went to a new home for a year where he was not walked regularly and barely taken out the house. Therefore Buddy did not get the socializing he needed and developed fear aggression to any new person who entered his and his owners house, seeing them as a threat. So Buddy needs a strict one to one home with someone who has no visitors. Once Buddy knows you he is very affectionate and will bark at you for attention to lie all over you or to try the food you are eating. Buddy loves his food and treats and as he is a very slow walker and sometimes refusing to walk at all he needs a strict diet to help him maintain a healthy weight. Buddy loves his toys and will often throw them around to himself in excitement. His favourite toy is a dog friendly stick, although we have tried to give him more exciting toys he always goes back to his stick. Buddy can not live with any other dogs, cats or small animals.

Cobi

Cobi

Cobi

Gender/Age: male, 13 years
Breed: Jack Russell
Colour: tan and white
Location: Edenbridge

Cobi has had a troubled life. He originally came to us from the Welsh pound and was soon adopted by a couple who had him for three years. During this time, the man would force Cobi to do things that he did not want to do. He would force Cobi to wear a too-small harness and go out in heavy rain and thunderstorms. Cobi is scared of loud bangs, so this would have absolutely terrified poor Cobi. Because of this, Cobi started lashing out and became fear aggressive towards the couple, which ended up with him being returned for 'bad behaviour.' Cobi has had two homes since, and due to his original owner's behaviour, understandably, he now prefers a female owner. He will become attached to one person and will lash out at anyone else, so he is also better suited to a one-person home. Cobi loves to play fetch with tennis balls and will play for hours. He is very clever and is good at working out enrichment toys; he specifically loves liver treats and cut-up dog sausages put in a snuffle mat, where he can spend ages working out how to get every crumb out. He can be very affectionate on his own terms, but he will warn you when he has had enough. Due to having developed behavioural issues, Cobi has a bite history, so he will need an experienced and understanding owner. Cobi can be fearful of loud noises, specifically thunderstorms and fireworks. He will become very stressed, pant, and try to hide behind his bed and under blankets. He is best left with a loud radio to drown out the noise and to be left alone, as he becomes fearful and lashes out, probably remembering being forced to go out in them in his first home. Cobi, in the right home, would make a very loyal, loving pet. Please ask staff for more information about Cobi.

Buster

Buster

Buster

Gender/Age: Male 8yrs
Breed: Bulldog
Colour: Tan and white
Location: Edenbridge

Buster is a typically stubborn bulldog. He loves nothing more his big comfy bed, getting under the covers and lots of treats. He can be reluctant to walk in an any adverse weather but likes a stroll at his own pace wherever he wants to go. Buster is a nosey dog and loves coming through our office to sniff new smells and helping to feed the office fish. He will often steal staffs leads and carry his bowl to his bed where Buster can become protective over this and any long-lasting treats. He loves a butt scratch and will roll in long grass for you to scratch his tummy and can be quite affectionate on his own terms. Buster is not short on character but will need an experienced owner. He must go to a male one to one home as Buster loves men. He does not like people coming in to his home so will need to be kept separate. Buster needs a very understanding owner who will respect his boundaries and give him the time and space he needs. Please contact Edenbridge for more information.

Bill

Bill

Bill

Gender/Age: Male 6yrs
Breed: Frenchie
Colour: Black & tan
Location: Edenbridge

Bill is a grumpy chap at times who is set in his own ways. Despite only being 5 he acts like an old boy refusing to go on walks and wanting to sit all day in the sun. Bill absolutely loves his long red dog toy and occasionally you will walk past his kennel and see him just holding it in his mouth showing it off to the world. As cute and friendly as Bill looks, he is not a cuddly dog and couldn’t think of anything worse than being a lap dog. He would much rather get comfy and snug on the bed on the floor. He loves his own space and feels safe having an area that is just for him. Bill would love a home with someone who is happy to have him plod about in their garden and occasionally come for some attention. When Bill does want a fuss, his all time favourite is a butt scratch. He goes mad for this and loses his mind when he gets this. He will even try scratch his back on cars, bushes etc. Bill would need an adult only home ideally with 1 person or a couple who can respect his space with absolutely no children visiting. Bill is not a fan of any other animals he will avoid them when out but is not keen on having them approach him. Dogs - No Cats - No ADULT HOME

Pinky & Perky (aka The Pigs)!

Gender/Age: Females 9yrs
Breed: Frenchies
Colour: Dark Brindle
Location: Edenbridge

Pinky and perky or the pigs as we all call them are not short of character! They will make you laugh everyday with their cheekiness and toddler like personality. They both love to play and would choose toys over treats. Perky loves to find the biggest cuddly toy she can and carry it around with her before ripping it up, Pinky loves all kinds of balls and will take herself off to her bed to chew on it. They both love attention and will come and sit on you for affection, perky will sit facing you breathing in your face whilst pinky will roll over for a belly scratch. Unfortunately due to not being socialised properly they take some time to get to know new people. Pinky more so than perky but once you’re in their club they are your best friends and will allow their owners to do anything with them. They can be vocal with dogs so would need to be the only dogs in the home. They cannot be homed with children, cats or any small animals. Pinky and perky are more like twins than sisters always doing things together and often copying each others movements exactly so will not be separated and have to be homed together.

Rolo

Rolo

Rolo

Gender/Age: Male 5yrs
Breed: Terrier
Colour: Black & tan
Location: Edenbridge

Rolo is a very busy boy. He loves to chase anything that moves and will do this all day. He loves his walks and stops to smell everything. He loves to get snug in his bed and he buries himself under his covers when he sleeps. Rolo is very affectionate and tries to jump on your lap for a cuddle. He loves his toys and will find his favourite and run about with it in his mouth. He is a very active boy so needs lots of exercise.

Rolo has a very high prey drive and try to chase everything. He can get himself very worked up over this and needs a very understanding owner to help him calm down. Rolo is also very reactive to other dogs and can redirect so will need an experienced owner. We think that Rolo would love lots of secure land where he can safely explore and with a very patient and understanding owner who can appreciate Rolo’s needs and give him all the love he deserves. He must be the only pet in an adult only home.

Kimi

Kimi

Kimi

Gender/Age: Female 10yrs
Breed: Rottweiler
Colour: Black & tan
Location: Edenbridge

Kimi sadly came to us severely overweight and was nicknamed the barrel. She was struggling to walk and after further investigation it was discovered, she unfortunately has luxating patella in both her knees. Due to Kimi being energetic she jumps around in her kennel, bouncing off the walls, making the recovery post-surgery not possible, so she is kept comfortable with medication and is doing well on it. Since finding her love for walks and balls she has managed to shed the weight but is still in need of shedding those last few kilos. Kimi is absolutely obsessed with her toys and mainly balls. You will always find her with a ball in her mouth, whether she is out on a walk or laying in her bed she will have a toy. She treats it as a comfort blanket and wherever she goes, a toy will go with her. Kimi is great with the people she knows however it can take time to build up trust with her. Kimi does enjoy a fuss and some attention but only on her terms and only for a short period. Kimi is happiest being near and with you rather than on you like a lap dog. Kimi likes her own space, but likes to know you are around, so would prefer to sit in her bed surrounded by her toys with you in her eyesight so she knows she is not alone. One of Kimi’s rare features which we all love, if she allows you to sneak a glance is her ‘pig skin pads on her paws. Kimi is looking for an experienced adult only home with no other pets. Kimi needs an owner who will give her the time and patience she will need to earn your trust and to settle in to a home environment.

Gunner

Gunner

Gunner

Gender/Age: Male 7yrs
Breed: Spaniel
Colour: Chocolate
Location: Edenbridge

Gunner is a hyper energetic boy who is always on the move, he has bundles of energy and would love an active home with someone who can take him exploring for miles often, no matter how muddy and wet it is. Gunner is a typical Spaniel who loves to play ball and can play for hours. He will always find a ball when on walks and when playing fetch he will always bring the ball to your feet. Even though Gunner is a happy chap and is always wagging his tail, he is not keen on being over-fussed and likes his own space.

Outside the home Gunner is a little poser and will pose for a photo and will even perform some of his tricks for a treat. However, in the home Gunner does not have manners and will jump and sleep on the sofa and bed if he wants too. The best way to overcome this is to bribe him with a treat to get him off any other way to remove him or to get him to do something he doesn’t want to do results in him becoming vocal and stressed. Gunner can be stubborn and determined to do what he wants when he is in a certain mood, and this is something that would need to be worked on. When Gunner is on a wind down in the evenings, he will happily sit with you for a cuddle and stroke but not to be overfussed.

As you can tell by Gunner’s mop head of hair, he is not a fan of the groomers or being groomed. Gunner had a traumatic experience with this in the past so now he is very fearful and suspicious when something is happening to his fur. Everything must be done in stages and for short periods of time to work up building the trust to allow him to have a full proper groom. In Summer, we usually would shave him down so it’s all done and stress free for him, then his fur can grow back nice and fluffy ready for winter. Gunner loves the sound of his own voice and will be vocal for attention, food and even for walks.

Sadly, Gunner is not good with other animals especially Cats so would be looking for a pet free home. Gunner is looking for an active experienced adult only home, with someone who has the time and patience to put in the training Gunner needs in the home.

Tito

Tito

Tito

Gender/Age: Male 9yrs
Breed: Greyhound x Saluki
Colour: Tan
Location: New Romney

Hello I am Tito. I am a very loving dog, with the people I trust. I arrived at the New Romney rescue many years ago from a Welsh pound, no one knows my early previous history, but from my behaviour and the marks on my body, my friends at Last chance know I wasn't treated very nicely. Sometimes I can get anxious and see hands as a threat, I also struggle being out of my routine. One staff member says she is blessed to have my trust, I snuggle up for a fuss, offer her cuddles, demand a tummy tickle (poking my feet in her face) and enjoy her company on walks and in my kennel, but I admit, I do get jealous if anyone else is around us - even when I like the other people! I do get nervous around new people and situations, which sometimes means I can be a bit snappy. I am told I'm handsome and also super fit for my age, I can jump onto the picnic tables in our grounds in just one leap. I will run around the grounds chasing the wild rabbits and squirrels, but birds are my real nemesis, if only I could climb trees!!! I also love sunbathing on the grass and playing catch with my big ball, but I prefer the right company over treats and games and don't like to be left on my own. I am definitely not keen on walks in the rain or the cold! Due to my past experiences (and from the information my friends at Last Chance have gathered on my previous adoptions), I'm told I need a very special and experienced, single, adult only home, with no other animals, I may prefer a female human. Once I form a strong bond with you and feel safe, I will become your best friend, but this also means I will not want to share you, I have waited so long for you I want you all to myself!! I need a quiet home, with a secure garden, very rare visitors and definitely no children visiting! It would be best if you have a very structured routine that I could fit in to. I will need multiple visits from any potential adopter, so we can get used to each other. If you think I could be your best friend please speak to the staff at New Romney Tel: 01797 366620, or pop in to the centre during our opening times: Wed-Sun 11am-3pm. I have been at New Romney for a very long time, please consider me. Love Tito x

Danny Boy

Danny Boy

Gender/Age: Male 14years +
Breed: Scottie/Carne X
Colour: Black
Location: Edenbridge

Danny Boy is a lovely boy once he knows you, he has to have a female owner on a one to one basis, this is all due to him being mistreated. Unfortunately this poor sad little lad, through no fault of his own was kicked and abused in his previous home, living day after day in constant fear, hiding and cowling away from his owner.

This is a very sad case due Danny Boy’s previous male owner who was sadly suffering with-Alzheimers and didn’t realise what he was inflicting on his once best friend.

Please therefore understand why our darling sad, confused, untrustworthy, frightened little Danny boy can be unpredictable towards men, and is quite nervous when first meeting you and needs to settle in slowly. Is there someone out there that can reassure him, give back the love he once knew, to enable him to trust that once again, like the song above will there ever be any pipes a calling for our Danny Boy?????? Or does he have to continue to hope, dream, wish for someone to call his name.

Look into those eyes, see his pain, reach out to him, give him a chance, give him time to trust you, give him back his life, give him the confidence, patience and love that he needs, LOVE that we all need. I know the right person is out there, make our Danny Boy’s wish come true, a loving home this Christmas, that day and every other one there on, FIND HIM A HOME PLEASE.

MORE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR BOY For those of you that feel you can give our little lad the right home, you would have to visit him on a regular basis, over weeks, even maybe months for him to get used to you and to start to trust you, so this is something that must be considered.

Danny is ideally looking for a quiet home, with a female that does not have regular visitors, with NO CHILDREN, MEN OR OTHER PETS. Danny needs to be his on boss, not be confronted by things or over stimulated or trying to teach him. Danny I would say at the moment, but who knows in the future, is currently not a companion pet, and would not understand or want loads of cuddles or fuss. Like I say he might be the most adorable companion, but this would take time.

Consideration must be taken when out with Danny, due to his fear of people, especially men, you would need to keep a distance from people and dogs whilst walking our Danny boy.

For more information on Danny please call our staff at the Edenbridge rescue 01732 865530
