Poppy

Poppy is a little darling and all she wants is cuddles and attention. Poppy would benefit from someone who is retired and home all the time. She is a lap dog and is just a real sweetie.

Milly

Milly has come to Last Chance as her owner has sadly passed away. She seems sweet so far and is ok with other dogs. We recommend older children. Floss

Floss is a gorgeous girl who has sadly had a bad start in life. She was used as a working dog on a farm but was kept in horrid conditions. Floss was no longer of any use, so she was kept in a small kennel, being overlooked every day. A lovely man who was working there saw what was going on and took her home with him; otherwise, she would have eventually been shot. Floss has a beautiful temperament and is very loving. She is good with all dogs. If you can offer Floss a lot of TLC, then please come down to register.

Daisy & Evie

Daisy and Evie are a sweet mother and daughter pair who's owner could no longer care for them due to health problems. Daisy is very outgoing whereas Evie is a little more reserved and relies on Daisy for some confidence. They are looking for a calmer home with lots of love. They are said to be good with other dogs and cats. They could potentially live with older children. Chloe and Joey

Chloe and Joey came to Last Chance from our recent trip to Wales. This poor pair are absolutely petrified of the world, we don’t believe they’ve had much human interaction at all. Chloe and Joey still don’t quite trust us yet, but we are hoping over the next few days with some gentle encouragement they will come out of their shell. Chloe and Joey are looking for a very patient owner that will give them the time they need to settle in. They will need a quiet home with no children. Rocket and Gretel

Rocket and Gretel are very new to us so they are very nervous at the moment. We've been told that they are wary of strangers so we're looking for a quiet, adult only home where someone has the time to help them settle in.

Sandy and Ruby

Sandy and Ruby are a sweet pair of ladies who are looking for their forever home together. They are looking to be the only pets in the house. If you're looking for a pair of cuddle bugs then these are the girls for you!

Wicky Whacker

Wicky is an ex racing greyhound, who is looking for his forever retirement home. He is a lovely boy and loves his squeaky toys. Wicky does need a very secure garden as he can jump around 6ft. Good with other big dogs but will need to be muzzled around small furries.

Bessie

Although she hasn't been with us long Bessie seems a lovely, sweet girl. She is very affectionate and just wants to be cuddled. Sadly, she has been used for breeding and now needs a nice calm home to enjoy her life. Bessie seems to be ok with other dogs and we think she she may be able to live with older children.

Rocco

Rocco is finding kennels very scary and he does take some time to gain your trust. Rocco is looking for an adult home only who have had this breed before. He still acts like a typical puppy who loves playing with his toys. He can be a little snappy when feeling threatened or scared. Rocco needs plenty of exercise and someone who has the time and patience for him.

Milo

Milo is a sweet natured boy who originally came from our Welsh pound so we have no history on him. Milo is dog reactive and has a high prey drive so needs to be the only pet in the property. He's a strong boy who needs a patient experienced owner in an adult only home.

Daphne & Doris

Daphne & Doris are two sweet girls would like to be rehomed together. They will need some training and socialising as they don't seem to be used to walking on a lead, but are very affectionate. Please come along to meet them.

Agassi

Agassi is an ex-racing greyhound and may never have lived in a home environment. He is starting to enjoy retirement and has recently realised how much fun squeaky/cuddly toys are and loves to chuck them around his kennel to himself and carry them off to his bed to chew on. Agassi is a funny boy when it comes to food and unlike most greyhounds he is very particular about what he eats, he will lick the meat off and spit out the biscuits he doesn't like the taste of. Now he realises what attention is, he is loving a fuss and will walk into you with his head and wait for a stroke. Agassi is good around other dogs his size but no small animals or fluff dogs due to his prey drive. Agassi is looking for a loving retirement home with someone who can give him the time and love he deserves.

Hammer

Hammer is a loving boy, who is very puppy like. He is full of beans and loves to do his zoomies. He is good with bigger dogs, but must be muzzled around small furries.

Dolly Daydream

Dolly Daydream is a happy, friendly girl. She is lively and playful. Dolly is obviously not used to walking on lead, and will need further gentle training and we are looking for an adult only home as Dolly sadly has no history.

Kilo

Kilo is a big boisterous chap who is full of beans and just loves to play. He loves to chase balls and run around squeaking toys in his mouth. He is affectionate but doesn’t know his size and will often bowl into you. He is excited to see other dogs but needs socialising. He is strong on the lead so needs an owner who can train him and mange him for walks.

Luna

Luna was originally handed in to our New Romney centre with puppies as her owners housing situation changed. Since then, all her puppies have found loving homes but Luna is still sadly looking for her forever home. When Luna first came in, she was very wary of men and had so much energy to burn that she would become very frustrated. Luna is now at our Edenbridge centre and has gotten used the daily routines and has calmed right down. She can still be wary of new men she has not met before but has come to like many male members of staff and volunteers. Luna is ok with other dogs but doesn't like dogs that are to boisterous or bouncy so must be the only pet in the home. Luna loves her walks but will need further lead training as she gets very excited and can pull. Luna did not seem to know what a love was and at first used to freeze when receiving attention. She now will jump up at her door every time you get her out for a quick cuddle and a fuss. Luna will make a lovely pet for someone who has the time and patience to help with further training and socialising. No small animals or children.

Buddy

Buddy came to us not looking his best, he was covered in painful mats that hurt him so much he hated being touched. Now he's had a trim and he's a different dog! He can be very sweet and will come up for attention but likes it on his terms. He has developed a habit of nipping at the ankles as well so will need an adult only home and one that has experience dealing with dogs with slight behavioural issues.

Barker

Barker is one of our ex racers, who even though he is retired he still loves chasing small animals, so he cannot live in a home with cats, small animals or small dogs. As an ex racer he will also need to be muzzled when out on walks in public.

Olivia

Colour: Seal & Tan

Olivia is sweet and affectionate on her own terms. She is very lively and playful, but can be possesive and will guard things so needs an experienced, adult only home with no other animals.

Lexi

Gender/Age: Female 7yrs
Breed: Greyhound

Lexi is a very sweet, gentle girl who loves a fuss. Sadly, Lexi is epileptic so is on ongoing medication. She would love a nice calm home where she get lots of love and attention. She is Okay with other dogs, but as with most sight Hounds, no cats or small animals.

Farloe

Molly

Our amazing Molly-Moo (or one of the many other nicknames she has gained) is still waiting for her dream home. She was originally a stray so we know little about her life before Last Chance, however having been with us for some months now, we know she will be an amazing addition to someone's life. She is a silly, lovable lady who craves a good fuss just as much as she does a tennis ball, when she arrived she was considerably overweight, however with a little less munching, and a little more charging after a ball, she is now sleek, slender and frankly, stunning! She is spending a lot of time with one of our amazing volunteers who says she is picking up training very easily and has been showing off her newly learned patience. Molly isn't great with most dogs and will bark when she is out, she would benefit from further training to help with this. She can also be very strong on the lead when she wants to be so will need an owner who is physically strong enough to hold her while she learns she doesn't need to pull. As we don't know Molly's background, she would not be able to live with children and would prefer a home without any other pets. Mary

Mary is a lovely girl who needs a understanding owner. If she loves you she adores you and you become her world, she loves a fuss and to play rough and tumble with you. However this means she gets very protective of her people and can become aggressive when strangers approach. So for this she needs a patient and understanding owner. She is good with dogs out and about but would greatly benefit from gentle socialising and would need to be the only pet in the home. We do not think that Mary has had any training or socialising, She now knows sit and paw, however she gets over excited for the treat so jumps up to give you both paws instead. She can be a tiny bulldozer and charges about when she is having her zoomies. Mary would make a fantastic companion to the right owner and would make you laugh on a daily basis.

Pinky & Perky

Pinky and perky came back into our centre as their owners were unable to keep them. They are both full of character! They both love their toys and will play for hours. Perky loves to find the biggest toy she can fit in her mouth and carry it round with her. Pinky loves to chase tennis balls. Pinky has recently undergone a spinal operation which she has recovered from so well that she has amazed the vets. They both love attention and will jump on your lap and roll over for a scratch. They weren’t socialised when they were younger and can be protective of their owners from people and other dogs so need someone who has experience with this. They must be the only pets in an adult only home. Although they can be wary at first once they know you they are your best friend. And will make the most wonderful and entertaining pets

Gunner

Gunner is a complex boy. He can be affectionate on his own terms and likes a gentle fuss. He loves his food and will sit instantly when you mention a treat. Gunner is very active and loves his walks. Like a typical spaniel he loves to smell everything. Gunner can be reactive to dogs and needs lots of very gentle socialising in time. He must be the only pet in an adult only home. Gunner needs an owner who understands that he can get very quickly overwhelmed and understands his boundaries and has the patience needed for him to learn to trust you.

Buddy

Buddy is a gorgeous boy looking for a very particular home. Buddy needs to be rehomed to someone who lives on their own - no children or other pets- that has experience with dogs with some behavioural trust issues. It would need to be a quiet home with someone who does not’t have many visitors. He gets very possessive and protective of his owner and doesn't want any harm to come to them. He absolutely LOVES his food and will do anything for a nice treat so this is a way to win over his trust and to help build a bond. He loves to rough play and gets very excited when you hype him up to play. Buddy has a lot of love to give, he loves having cuddles on the sofa and will happily snooze by your side when you're watching TV. In time Buddy will make a wonderful companion for the perfect person who is willing to put some time and effort into helping him overcome his fears.

Bill

Bill is a lovely boy once he knows you, but can be a little fearful at first and will snap when feeling threatened but once he knows and trusts you he is fine. Bill needs a one to one adult home with no children visiting, as he does bond with one person very well. Bill does enjoy a fuss but on his terms he's not keen on being over fussed. He does like to guard his toys and bones so he has to be left alone whilst he has these. He is good with most dogs when out but tends to show a dislike to black dogs particularly because of this we are looking for him to be the only pet in the home.

Dancer

Gender/Age: Male 3-4yrs
Breed: Collie x
Colour: Black and Tan

Dancer came to us from a Welsh pound. We believe he was used as a farm dog as he can be weary of people approaching him on the lead and can nip and he is very traffic reactive. He is a typical ex-working dog who hasn’t adjusted to home life yet so will need an experienced and very understanding owner to help settle him in slowly. He needs an adult only home in a rural setting, where he is the only pet in the home.

Cobi

Gender/Age: male, 6years
Breed: Jack Russell
Colour: tan and white
Location: Edenbridge

Cobi is a very happy dog when he feels safe, but when he feels scared or frightened he will lash out and will bite if given the chance. So is best left alone when he goes into his scared state, this usually occurs when he hears loud bangs. When he knows you he can be very affectionate and loves to sit on your head looking out the window. We are looking for a very understanding one-person adult home for Cobi with no children visiting please and no other pets. Cobi would need to go to someone who has experience dealing with JRT as Cobi needs a special person who can give him the time and patience he requires. Danny Boy

Danny Boy is a lovely boy once he knows you, he has to have a female owner on a one to one basis, this is all due to him being mistreated. Unfortunately this poor sad little lad, through no fault of his own was kicked and abused in his previous home, living day after day in constant fear, hiding and cowling away from his owner.

This is a very sad case due Danny Boy’s previous male owner who was sadly suffering with-Alzheimers and didn’t realise what he was inflicting on his once best friend.

Please therefore understand why our darling sad, confused, untrustworthy, frightened little Danny boy can be unpredictable towards men, and is quite nervous when first meeting you and needs to settle in slowly. Is there someone out there that can reassure him, give back the love he once knew, to enable him to trust that once again, like the song above will there ever be any pipes a calling for our Danny Boy?????? Or does he have to continue to hope, dream, wish for someone to call his name.

Look into those eyes, see his pain, reach out to him, give him a chance, give him time to trust you, give him back his life, give him the confidence, patience and love that he needs, LOVE that we all need. I know the right person is out there, make our Danny Boy’s wish come true, a loving home this Christmas, that day and every other one there on, FIND HIM A HOME PLEASE.

MORE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR BOY For those of you that feel you can give our little lad the right home, you would have to visit him on a regular basis, over weeks, even maybe months for him to get used to you and to start to trust you, so this is something that must be considered.

Danny is ideally looking for a quiet home, with a female that does not have regular visitors, with NO CHILDREN, MEN OR OTHER PETS. Danny needs to be his on boss, not be confronted by things or over stimulated or trying to teach him. Danny I would say at the moment, but who knows in the future, is currently not a companion pet, and would not understand or want loads of cuddles or fuss. Like I say he might be the most adorable companion, but this would take time.

Consideration must be taken when out with Danny, due to his fear of people, especially men, you would need to keep a distance from people and dogs whilst walking our Danny boy.
